Going Schmalz to the Wall

Athletic Background
I’ve dabbled in numerous sports throughout my life, starting by playing on the boys little league team that my dad coached. But I’ve never been happier than when I’ve had skates on my feet. I roller skated a lot as a kid and was a figure skater from age 8 through my teens. I started in-line skating for fun in high school and continued through college, skating around Lake Monona in Madison. A few years later I moved to Milwaukee, learned about roller derby, rediscovered my roller skates, and fell in love.

League Awards
Gnarliest Injury – 2014 (See below)

Worst Derby Injury
Spiral fractures of my left tibia and fibula during the March bout of our 2014 season. I now have a metal rod in my leg as a souvenir. A lot of people thought that one would end my love affair with derby, but I am absolutely not ready to hang up my skates!

Proudest Derby Moment
Being part of an undefeated team my rookie year.
