Charities

Is there a local nonprofit that is close to your heart? How about a favorite community group, club, firehouse or police station?

The Brewcity Bruisers want to give back to our community in a BIG way! Local non-profits, first responders, and community groups keep our city running. We want to say thank you by offering FREE bout tickets - no strings attached.

If you feel that a local group would enjoy some free roller derby as a thank you for their help in supporting the Milwaukee community, ask a representative from their group to fill out this survey by clicking here. Each group can only win one time per home season.

Your organization could win up to 20 FREE bout tickets!

  • Not available to members or relatives of the Brewcity Bruisers.
  • Each organization is only eligible to win once per season.
  • 1 Entry per bout, per organization.

Each month the Brewcity Bruisers select a local charity to donate a portion of proceeds from our bouts and events.

This season we are focusing on the following organizations in the area. Please help us in supporting them.

BAD - MADDACC

BAD (Battle Against Dogfighting)

maddacc.com

BAD is a program of Friends of MADACC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting community awareness and improving the welfare of the nearly 13,000 homeless animals that MADACC cares for every year.

Battle Against Dogfighting (BAD) is a comprehensive, city-wide program to educate the community and protect animals from the horrors of dogfighting. We use a proven multi-agency approach to unite the community against dogfighting and to prevent dog owners from participating in this blood "sport". Through education, early intervention, and community involvement, BAD promotes programs that stop the violence associated with dogfighting and animal abuse; educates the public about humane treatment of animals and responsible pet ownership; trains youth and community leaders who can take the message of compassion throughout their own communities; and connects pet owners to low-cost and free resources.

BAD collaborates with City of Milwaukee programs, the Milwaukee Police Department, community partners, businesses, schools, and churches to spread the message that compassion towards animals makes for safer and more humane communities. BAD has four key components to specifically target neighborhoods most affected by dogfighting and other associated violence:

Friends of MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission)

Friends of MADACC ensure that donations stay in Milwaukee County to help local homeless animals. Many of these animals are friendly, healthy and highly adoptable and our efforts give them a second chance at finding permanent, loving homes.
