One of Brewcity Bruisers’ announcers, Bob Noxious, was generous enough tell you all about the Bruisers’ Battlestars winning the B-Cup Tournament in Indiana earlier this month.

Bloomington, IN – The field of eight leagues within earshot of Bloomington squared off at 8am and crowned a champion in late evening. The Champion Brewcity Bruisers’ Battlestars! The B-Cup Tournament trophy rode to Wisconsin with of some of your favorite skaters and even a few you may not know.

After three bouts, it remained impossible to name specific skaters responsible for the newly needed trophy case. ChaZaam is a rookie and had success jamming and in the pack, which ran a defensive clinic its first two bouts. Moby Nipps was a cornerstone jamming and blocking, but this was a TEAM in the truest form. Communication, crisp pack play, and veterans like Moby, Madd Mallett, Fidela Castrate, Pound Anya, and The Other White Meat anchored walls and blocking schemes that shut down opposing jammers – even when BCB was short-handed. Back to basics and execution with discipline made them effective. Every skater was an asset, as all blocker rotations produced the same, stifling result.

The Battlestars began at 9am, playing Circle City out of Indianapolis. BCB blocking suffocated Circle City, keeping them scoreless much of the first half. Though able to put together a few scoring runs, each was smothered by Battlestar blocking. BCB moved on to an easy 254 to 31 victory.

A big thank you goes out to Moosie for taking the photos and to Bob Noxious for writing the post!
